BBQ season is here! BBQs are the best, but do you ever get an invite to one which initially fills you with excitement until you read, "Please bring a dish to share," and your joyous cheers goes to mother fuuuuuuuu.....
Especially if you are the third wheel, the single who's used to cooking for parties of 1, must now create a dish for a crowd. Plus if you're like me in your late 30s..it's a party with couples..and kids..and allllll kinds of freaking allergies. No one is going to want to eat your beet hummus gluten free kale burger. So what do you bring?
I got you.
I have 4 recipes that won't compromise your lifestyle (just in case you have extra to bring home!), won't break your slush fund account, and are somewhat do overs of the normal BBQ fare.
1. CHIPOTLE BBQ BAKED BEANS
The "stamp" is shredded jicama. :)
2. "The Looker." I HEART USA WATERMELON PIZZA
This one makes a beautiful dish to have on your tablescape. It is difficult to transport, so this might be a hostess only dish. To go nut free, omit the cashew creme and use whipped up coconut creme instead.
3. "The Sophisticated." WALDORF SALAD
4. SWEET POTATO DILL SALAD
