Pumpkin Drop Biscuits with Pumpkin Cheese Sauce and Cranberry Jelly

 

Biscuits designed for a better body and mind! 

I like the idea of drop biscuits because you don't have to be fussy with the shape which allows for some wiggle room in the final outcome.  Baking is precise and any deviation you will notice.  It's like ballet is to dance.  You notice when someone's point is off on a pirouette.  Unlike hip hop where if someone's two step becomes a three step you think they are just adding some of their own flava.  

I love the freedom of hip hop the most but there are times when I enjoy the refinement of the ballet.  What I love even more is a combo.  These drop it like it's hot biscuits are like a ballet/hip hop fusion.  Even their final look turns out fun with restrainment. 

Biscuits with benefits for your gut! 

Normally biscuits can be very inflammatory for our guts, these are actually beneficial because they contain ghee.  Ghee contains a short-chain fatty acid called butyrate which reduces inflammation in the digestive tract, aiding digestion!  When we can heal our gut we serve not only our body but our mind as well. 

And since I had an adorable furry friend stay with me over the weekend, I couldn't help but make some for her too....

I used the leftover Pumpkin Cheese Sauce from the Pumpkin Mac and Cheese!
