Super Bowl LIII is set and I think I might try to find a quiet place to watch (minus my screams) this year so I can hear Tony Romo's commentary. Wow he is GOOD! My heart was beating in my chest watching the AFC game and that Romo really took viewing experience to the next level! Plus the game was really turnt up in the second half.
Another man's brilliance that is hard to deny is Tom Brady. He's one of those guys you just want to hate on but at 41 he still brings it! I mean football is a team sport and he does have a cast of characters of talent built around him, including a defensive line that protected him unlike the Chiefs for Mahomes who still managed some killer passes. Still at his age Brady is performing high and personally I think his brain power has a large part in why he is one of the greatest.
Brady's diet has been publized and while it could be heresay, for some reason he seems like one who would with the help of a personal chef be extremely paticular with his diet given his personality type. It was reported his diet was 80% organic vegetables, completely void of MSG and any other foods that would cause inflammation in his body.
His diet if reported as such is completely free of toxins. Toxins which would cause damage to his brain.
As we grow older we do lose brain cells but we can still build new neurons (neurogenesis) as we age as well as connective pathways. When you eat a clean chemical free diet, you don't have anything invading your body that is going to come in and harm your brain. Anything with MSG (which is in a lot of pre made processed food products) are neurotoxins = poison to our brain.
He's eating not only in a way to protect his brain, but to build his brain. Plus exercise is also a huge contributor in building one's brain.
As a quarterback especially, the brain plays a major role in wins. I believe it was my new favorite commentator Romo, who expressed it best when he said in reference to Brady, you don't just have a quarterback on the field you have an offensive coordinator and a head coach. No doubt Tom Brady is an athlete but his mind power is what sets him apart.
From my understanding Brady is obsessed with preparation. He doesn't just watch plays, but memorizes and comprehends them so well he has the instinct to know when to use them or when to turn them into a new play on the spot. His brain is constantly firing during a game, reading players and thinking ahead, meanwhile he has to perform physically under the emotional stress of the game's nature. That all takes an insane amount of energy. Energy he has been using for 18 seasons!! Energy which I do believe stems partly (not all) but significantly from his clean and nutrient dense high perfomance eating.
So if you wanna be like Brady :)... (I mean we all should want to be performing high no matter what our job is!)...I do have a plant based chemical free dish you can serve at a Super Bowl party. A healthy twist on Jalapeño Poppers!
The recipe makes apx 20 jalapeño poppers. (Adjust to size of party you are attending). This is apx b/c it depends on the size of your jalapeños. I recommend to buy more just in case. They are inexpensive and you can always pickle any leftover ones or use in another dish during the week.
I have a short clip on how to hollow out jalapeños to make boats followed by a couple tips then recipe!
TO MAKE JALAPEÑO BOATS (see video): CUT IN HALF. THEN CUT IN CAREFULLY WITH A SMALL SHARP KNIFE TO GET THE WHITE PART OUT AND SEEDS. FINISH OFF WITH A TSP TO CLEAN OUT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
I USED A BAKING RACK BUT YOU MAY BE ABLE TO JUST USE A BAKING SHEET.
YOU WILL PROBABLY NEED TO REHEAT WHEN YOU GET TO YOUR PARTY. BAKE RIGHT ON THE PARCHMENT PAPER JUST TILL WARM. MAYBE YOU JUST BRING A BAKING SHEET AS YOUR SERVING DISH. WON'T LOOK SO BAD WITH PARCHMENT ON TOP!
Would love to hear if you try this out! Be sure to follow NutraCouture on IG and FB and to sign up for the enewsletter to receive recipes like this and special promos on the NutraBombs by clicking here.
