Bottled Asian sauces and dressings 9 out of 10 times have preservatives. It's easy enough to throw a handful of ingredients in a jar and shake it up to make your own!
I did have the extra steps of making my own tamarind paste, which involves cracking the shell off of tamarind pods, soaking in water for at least 30 minutes, and deseeding. Sounds complicated but it's not bad at all. Still it's extra steps and you can easily buy prepared tamarind paste.
These noodles are made of only rice and water! If you are watching the grains for a reason, you can always just load up your plate with more of the veggies! I used the brand Thai Kitchen rice noodles. It comes in a red box found in the Asian section.
